POLICE investigating the murder of a 22-year-old man in Thamesmead are appealing for witnesses.
Moses Nteyoho of Chalcombe Road, Abbey Wood, was stabbed at around 9.30pm on Friday (Oct30) near the Tilehurst Point flats in Tavy Bridge.
The death is being investigated by Met officers from the homicide and serious crime command unit.
A post-mortem examination held at Princess Royal University Hospital, Farnborough, gave the cause of death as haemorrhaging from a stab wound to the heart.
Investigating officer Acting Det Chief Insp Brian Mather says he wants to hear from anyone who saw five young men on the estate that evening.
He said: "Moses and a friend were on their way to a local youth project which provides social and educational support for young people when they saw a group of five or so young men running towards them.
"Although his friend managed to get away, the group caught up with Moses and attacked him leaving him with stab wounds as they ran off in the direction of the car park underneath the parade of shops.
"I want to hear from anyone who may have seen this group. They are described as black, aged in their late teens or early 20s, wearing dark, casual clothing with hoods and/or clothing to obscure their faces."
He added: "It's possible they had been elsewhere on the estate that night. Were you in the area and did you see or hear anything suspicious that evening?
"I have no reason to believe that Moses was involved in a gang. I don't believe he knew his attackers. But at this early stage, I am keeping an open mind as to the motive for this brutal and senseless attack."

Not a day gone past
I think there's not been one day gone by when you haven't been on my mind at some point. I think it's cause you were such an amazing kind hearted person, none of us realised that enough till you were gone. I feel blessed to have known you. I'm one of the lucky people, I had the chance to call you a friend. I will always look back fondly at our time. Especially dinner everyone crammed in that chinese, you using the charm to steal my curry sauce and chips. I feel better by telling myself youl see this somehow although that's probaly not true. Wherever you are now I pray you know just how much you were loved. Rest in peace my darling. Xx
Moses i only found out recently and all this time i thought u was in pen as someone told me. i still cant believe it and there isnt a day that goes by that i dont think of you. I'm still in denial. i remember the first day i met you n you was walking kicking your football and u tripped over it n me and my friend laughed n u chased us lol that was funny. and that valentines day u bought me 10 red roses i still remember getting off the bus and you was standing there with them behind your back :) and our song. it was all a while ago but you will always be special to me moses and i will always and forever remember the jokes we had u never failed to put a smile on faces. i wish so bad those priks didnt take you away and i pray that you and your family get the justice you deserve, its not fair, i know you wasnt a bad person you brought alot of laughter to peoples lives and you truely did touch my heart, i dont want to say goodbye, so im going to say i'll see you later. love & prayers always.
